Darren just took my order for our dinner tonight, super nice guy! Everything was perfect and exactly what I wanted.
Side note, my mom has been going to Zito's for.... I don't know.... 30+ years... so it must always be good (she was a very picky woman) -

No sauce. The cheese just slid off the pizza and was left with the bottom crust (that had no sauce on it). I asked for well done but they burnt the bottom instead.over priced for the quality. Worst pizza I've had
Delivery was on time -

A humble mom and pop shop pizza joint where an older gentleman sprung to open the door as we approached. This location of Zito's is told to be the original location and the fan favorite among the natives in the area. One of my coworkers from New York was in town with us on this visit's to Zito and he even commended their New York décor. Specifically he pointed out how having the Statue of Liberty is an obvious New York indication, but it was the details in the street signs at the mural at the front entrance that most impressed him.
Just like the Pizza 'culture' in New York, Zito's will have your huge slices of pizza by the slice. Availability is limited between 11am-4pm daily.
My coworker from New York who is an absolutely purist who believes pizza's only topping should be cheese and the only cheese should be mozzarella cheese! He ordered 2 Cheese Pizzas by the slice ($3.99/slice) and a drink ($2.49). Each of these large slices are cut in half. When his food arrived he ate his pizza with care and enjoyed an entire slice before assessing. He deemed it good enough that he would return!! Wow I call that a win for this place since he has fancy New York standards for pizza.
Also during the lovely 11am-4pm window, but only on weekdays, Zito's also offer Lunch Special deals ($9.28). You are able to enjoy a slice of pizza or spaghetti or half sandwich with a side salad and a drink OR even chicken strips with potato wedges and a drink.
My other coworker took advantage of the Lunch Special ($9.29) and went for a slice of pepperoni pizza with the side salad and a drink. In addition he had a side of Zito's Hot Wings ($9.99). He didn't comment too much on his food since we were more concerned with please out coworker from New York since he was the visitors. The wings itself is sold as a pound so the cashier was telling us it could range between 7-10 pieces depending on the size. The order came with celery and ranch, despite the menu advertising that it would come with blue cheese.
My sad sad food did not come out until both of my coworkers were nearby done with my food. I really think they forgot my order because they took our table number away after delivering all of the other food and I had to ask the cashier why the number was taken away if I haven't gotten my Personal Size BBQ Chicken Pizza ($9.49). It was definitely not because they had to make it fresh, as the excuse, because the Cheese Pizza seemed to have been made fresh and was much longer than the almost instantly received Pepperoni slice. By the time my food came out, my coworkers were basically done with their food. They finished their food before I can finish a tiny slice of my small personal pizza. It wasn't even enjoyable!! The toppings to crust ratio was a fail for me, and I know it's a personal pizza but Blaze never has this problem. I was so over it with my experience, I just togo-ed the rest of the food.
To their credit I really liked the set up here. There were plenty of thoughtful sections. An area with TV screens for sports fanatics, an area by the arcade games for the families and an area that was probably for those who likes things a bit quieter. They even have a table with disposable plates, plastic utensils, pizza condiments, hot sauce, napkins and all of the togo items available for self-serve.
I am so torn because I love to support mom and pop shop businesses but my personal experience here was terrible. For me the differences between a 3 or a 4 is the question -- Would I come back?? Possibly for the good value slice of pizza lunch specials, but I will stay away from the personal pizzas or anything that I need them to specially prepare. I am really trying to recognize all of the special touches that the owners put into this place and not let the mistake of one employee kill all of their hard work. A suggestion to hire and train better though, especially to those who are working lunch times where the customer needs to get back to work. -

Terrific lunch special, too! I had lunch here w women from work today. I snagged their Cobb. Which was great but $2 more than elsewhere. And a bunch of my coworkers got the lunch special: 2 (small) slices of The Za of The Day (ZOTD, right? lol) Side (descent sized portion) garden salad and a beverage.
